Research and Development

To be at their most effective it is important for teachers to engage in research and enquiry and this means keeping up-to-date with the latest developments as well as being equipped to engage in enquiry-orientated practice. The Alliance facilitates a Research Learning Community.

BERA is a member-led charity that exists to encourage educational research and its application for the improvement of practice and the public benefit.

A final report has been published from the BERA-RSA Inquiry into the role of research in UK teacher education. It describes ten system-wide principles and country-specific recommendations to help develop research-rich education systems.

The British Educational Leadership Management and Administration Society (BELMAS) is an independent voice supporting quality education through effective leadership and management. Its members are a mixture of practitioners in schools, colleges and universities and working academics. The Alliance subscribes to BERA and BELMAS.
