Specialist Leaders of Education are middle or senior leaders with a particular area of expertise who will support middle or senior leaders in other schools. SLEs have capacity and commitment to undertake school-to-school outreach work, directly supporting other leaders by applying their specialist knowledge and expertise and so improving outcomes for children.
ETC Alliance advertises vacancies for SLEs and has created the role of Alliance Learning Leaders (ALLs). The purpose of ALLs is to support individual school improvement through the deployment of outstanding practitioners. The group complements SLEs and increases our capacity and flexibility to respond to requests for developmental work.
The process of becoming an SLE/ALL is by application only and it is important for Headteachers to endorse the applications. Headteachers are asked to write a supporting statement which validates both eligibility and capacity to perform the role.
SLE/ALLs are offered opportunities to network with each other and to attend the ETC Annual Conference.
Deployment of an SLE/ALL
